
Hypnosis is one of the most powerful ways to influence the subconscious mind. The second most powerful way is through repetition. So, when you combine repetition and hypnosis together you have double the power in making positive and lasting changes to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the seat of the imagination, it is where our habits are formed and also the dynamo that directs our energy. When we try to make changes by willpower alone, we may not be successful because the internal programming of the subconscious may not be on board with the changes we are attempting to make. Therefore, we need to get the subconscious mind “on board,” so those changes are made at the level of the subconscious.
You may try to change a habit, such as wrong eating, smoking or procrastination but the harder we try and “kick the habit,” the more that habit persists. When you are hypnotized, either in a one-on-one session or through an audio hypnosis program, you are deeply relaxed, and the subconscious mind is hearing the suggestions that are made. Those suggestions are embedded deeply into the subconscious mind and you begin to do things differently.
You may find yourself craving healthy food, or not eating as much. You may find yourself exercising more and being more active. You may find yourself not wanting to smoke as much, or not wanting to smoke at all. You may find yourself actively working on the things you typically procrastinate on. And it happens with very little thought or conscious effort. Because the program is changing!
With hypnosis and hypnotherapy we are going directly to the root of the issue. If we don’t know what the root is, we use hypnosis to find out. Some people wonder if they can even be hypnotized. Well there are many levels of hypnosis and positive programming can happen at even the lightest of levels, where you are fully awake and aware and wondering if anything is happening. Your conscious mind can still be aware and active but the programming is influencing your subconscious mind.
Clinical hypnosis or hypnotherapy is not like stage hypnosis where you are quickly put in a trance and made to cluck like a chicken or repeat a silly phrase when your hypnotist says a code word. There are many different types of hypnosis but the type we are focusing on is to bring about healing and positive change. If we can get your subconscious mind to accept new positive programming, we have done our job.
